Spotta's 24/7 monitoring data shows London hotels now record 75% more bed bug detections than Paris. Here is what the data shows, how it was measured and what it means for hotels.

For hotels and other accommodation providers, bed bugs are one of the few pest problems that can go from invisible to reputation-damaging in a matter of days. You can't stop bed bugs from being carried in on a guest's luggage, but you can catch them early. Traditional approaches - periodic visual inspections, sniffer dogs, or waiting for a guest to complain - tend to be reactive, and by the time bed bugs are found the problem has often already spread.
